SmartMist System Passes BS8458:2015 Fire Tests

We’ve been extremely busy here at Smartmist Global, but we can finally reveal with great pride that the SmartMist Fire suppression System has passed the stringent requirements BS8458 fire tests at the FPA Testing Facility in Moreton-on-the-Marsh!

Countless time and energy have gone into the design and engineering procedures to ensure that Smartmist Global can offer one of the most compact, fully compliant fire suppression systems on the market today. Months of hard work was ultimately rounded off with a 4-day series of fire testing.

Over the four days, a number of extremely demanding tests were conducted in a controlled environment, and a number of key elements were monitored and recorded. The vitals which are monitored include the room temperature, activation time, and the temperature above the fire. If any of the data obtained from these tests are outside of the pre-defined limits in the British Standard, the system fails. The SmartMist system remained below the pre-set limits on every test and performed incredibly well.

The full report can be downloaded from our Testing page should you wish to view it, but ultimately SmartMist can be seen to have one of the best in class nozzles; activation times were extremely fast, fire suppression was rapid and temperature reduction within the room was extraordinary.
